Engaging Art to Activate Learning for Toddlers

Overview
How can art be utilized to engage our young students in learning? Not only can our youngest artists create beautiful art, they can also develop problem-solving skills, work on social and emotional learning, improve their visual literacy, and have fun! In this series of three workshops, participants will learn way to prepare fun, engaging art lessons that are aligned with the unique needs of toddlers as artists and learners. From resources to tools, lesson plans to easy clean-up, we will give you the tools you need to bring art into your lessons in fun, intentional ways!
Objective

After successfully completing this learning event, participants will be able to:

  1. Prepare fun, engaging art lessons that are developmentally appropriate and FUN for toddlers.
  2. Share how art supports toddler development in a variety of ways.
  3. Build upon children's interests in art to scaffold learning.
Additional Information

Participants are expected to attend all sessions of an event in order to receive credit for attending. Participants will be marked as “completed” in the LMS if they attend no less than 85% of the total sessions for the event (see table below) and complete all necessary coursework.
