Overview
Potential Provider Training consists of two online courses designed for individuals interested in learning about what is involved in becoming a licensed child care provider in Massachusetts. 

Through this training, EEC will introduce participants to the licensing rules, business considerations, and professional qualifications needed to apply for and operate a licensed GSA or Center-Based business.
Objective

After completing Part 1 of this training, you will:

  • Know more about EEC;
  • Understand how to access and read the Regulations;
  • Learn the minimum requirements to become a licensed program;
  • Recognize some of the business and personal considerations of running a child care business, and
  • Understand how to apply to EEC for a child care license.

After completing Part 2 of the training, you will:

  • Be able to access and use the licensing regulations;
  • Understand your professional responsibilities and obligations;
  • Know more about the Background Record Check process; 
  • Have a better understanding of what it means to run a child care business: 
  • Understand what to expect and how to prepare for the pre-licensing visit; and
  • Be aware of the next steps in the licensing application process.
Additional Information
Please note that you are required to complete Part 1 before gaining access to Part 2.
Certificates of completion will be available to view, save and print for each part of the training.
You are required to complete both parts of the training within 90 days.
