Better Staff Communication

Overview
Effective communication is essential to early education and care settings. And yet, within this extremely complex work, understanding one another can be extremely challenging. In this PLC, we will highlight the importance of building (and sometimes repairing) staff relationships, investigate elements of effective communication, and explore strategies for investing in one another as valued teammates.
Objective

Participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the importance of building /repairing relationships with fellow staff members.
  2. Describe strategies to build/rebuild trust.
  3. Learn the elements of effective communication.
  4. Consider challenges to communication and utilize conflict resolution skills.
Additional Information

Participants are expected to attend all sessions of an event in order to receive credit for attending. Participants will be marked as “completed” in the LMS if they attend no less than 85% of the total sessions for the event (see table below) and complete all necessary coursework.
