Overview
A great follow-up to the “Hooray! They’re Absent” training! We will dive deeper into challenging behaviors and examine why children behave the way they do. Today we will learn about schemas, appropriate expectations, neurodiversity, mental health, screens & collaboration with families.
Objective
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand the various ‘schemas’, or strong urges, that young children naturally display.
Recognize the various schemas and understand that these are normal, although sometimes challenging, behaviors.
Demonstrate an understanding of neurodiversity and how to effectively support children with various learning styles.
Discuss the role that screen time may play in increased behavioral challenges.
Plan for collaboration and communication with parents and families of children with challenging behaviors.
