Overview

"Safe Havens: Empowering Preschool Teachers for Classroom Safety, Summer Adventures, and Emergency Preparedness" is designed to equip preschool teachers with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to create a safe and secure environment for young children. This training covers various aspects of classroom safety, summer safety, and emergency preparedness, ensuring that teachers are well-prepared to handle situations that may arise.

Overall, the three sessions aim to build the confidence and preparation skills of early childcare providers.

Objective

1. Implement Summer Safety measures: Participant will be able to identify common outdoor hazards and implement preventive measures and strategies to ensure the safety of preschoolers during summer activities. This includes topics such as field trips, outdoor safety guidelines, water safety precautions, sun protection measures, and managing risks associated with summer adventures.

2. Understand Classroom Safety: Participants will gain an understanding of the key principles of classroom safety, including creating a child-friendly environment,

identifying, and minimizing hazards, implementing safety protocols, and promoting healthy hygiene practices.

3. Enhance Emergency Preparedness: Participants will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively respond to emergencies in a preschool setting. They will learn about a safety curriculum, review emergency evacuation procedures, and discuss how to establish communication plans with parents.
