Overview
Join us for an exciting, hands-on training where you’ll explore the wonders of science using simple, everyday materials from your kitchen! This course will introduce early childhood educators to practical ways of integrating science concepts into the classroom using accessible items, fostering curiosity and learning in young children. You will learn how to align science activities with early childhood guidelines, discover creative resources to enhance your kitchen-based experiments, and develop fun, engaging activities that incorporate children's literature. By the end of the session, you'll have a toolkit of science activities that are easy to implement, memorable for children, and rooted in the natural world around them.
Objective
  1. Review science guidelines for early childhood classrooms
  2. Use simple materials from their kitchen to work on science concepts
  3. Discover resources to help enhance kitchen science concepts.
  4. Develop a kitchen science activity introduced by a children’s book.
