Overview

Babies are constantly growing in every way, but social emotional development is at the center of it all. This training provides content on how infants and toddlers build their sense of self, and how that translates to behavior that can be confusing to their caregivers. PLC sessions provide the opportunity to learn strategies for supporting babies’ social and emotional needs, in the context of current health and safety guidelines.

Objective

Overall Learning Objectives: Participants will:

  • Gain knowledge in social-emotional development in children birth-three years; 

  • Utilize strategies for understanding child behavior as a form of communication; 

  • Utilize PDSA protocols to promote greater awareness of the social emotional needs of very young children and increased professional skill in meeting their needs
