Contracted Provider Core Service Training Series - Leading Continuous Quality Improvement: Putting the CQI Playbook into Practice

Overview
This current offering is only for EEC Contracted Providers. 
This course is designed to support educational leaders, FCC systems staff, professional development providers, and others working with early education and out-of-school time programs that are engaging in continuous quality improvement efforts.  During this course, participants will use EEC’s Program Quality Framework and Continuous Quality Improvement Playbook to practice strategies for supporting early educators and program leaders with using data to set improvement goals, test small changes, develop professional development plans, and monitor progress.  By participating in this course, participants will be part of a supportive community of peer learners with time to reflect, share strategies, discuss challenges, and celebrate successes. 

Participants are expected to complete one in person training (session 1) and one of the virtual cohorts (3 virtual sessions) for a total of four training sessions.  
Objective
Course Objectives  
  1. Identify characteristics of high-quality early education and out-of-school time programs. 
  2. Describe the process of continuous quality improvement and the mindset and conditions that enable change.  
  3. Identify meaningful sources of program data information readily available to early educators that can be used to inform program planning and decision making. 
  4. Identify opportunities for job-embedded professional development and the organizational structures needed to enable them. 
  5. Use EEC’s Continuous Quality Improvement Playbook to support early education and out-of-school time programs with collecting and reviewing data, setting improvement goals, engaging in Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles, and adopting systems that enable continuous improvement. 
  6. Support educators with establishing collaborative routines for planning, reflection, and shared decision making. 
  7. Support early educators with creating a professional development plan aligned to an improvement goal. 
  8. Support educators with planning for and testing changes that result in improvement and documenting their improvement work using EEC’s Continuous Quality Improvement Plan.  
  9. Engage educators in reflective practice. 
  10. Promote a positive organizational climate that enables continuous improvement in early education and out-of-school time programs

This PLC can be used to fulfill the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care's required hours of professional development that address diverse learners.

All participants must be registered in order to receive EEC Training Hours for their participation.
