Course Number
CS04: 09
Overview
We will discuss various triggers (or hot button) behaviors that exist for both adults and children. Once those triggers have been identified, we will then begin to assess what types of strategies can be put in place to help lessen or even eliminate them through tips such as mindfulness, deep breathing, etc.
Objective
  • Define and recognize personal hot button/trigger behaviors in both professional and personal contexts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify triggers in children and analyze how these triggers may be expressed through their reactions.
  • Devise strategies to mitigate or eliminate triggers, both for oneself and for children, by synthesizing information on trigger identification.
