Overview
Classroom design is a powerful teacher, especially for toddlers! This PLC will explore the importance of the physical layout of your toddler room, including how it can encourage exploration and prevent challenging behaviors. Discussion and activities will include strategies for improving your group's experience in the space you have. A special emphasis will also be on the selection and management of engaging materials for the toddler age group.
Objective

Participants will be able to:

  • Use information on developmentally appropriate expectations for the 15 month - 2.9-year age group.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the traffic patterns and open space in their toddler room;
  • Utilize strategies for toddler materials selection and management;
Additional Information

Participants are expected to attend all sessions of an event in order to receive credit for attending. Participants will be marked as “completed” in the LMS if they attend no less than 85% of the total sessions for the event (see table below) and complete all necessary coursework.
