Overview

If you are thinking about opening a child care business, this 30-minute program will help you understand the requirements and responsibilities, as well as the process for applying for an EEC license, including how to submit your application and prepare for your provisional license. Group and School-Age Child Care refers to services that:

  • Are provided in a community-based setting outside the home
  • Serve children on a regular basis during all or part of the day
  • Include children who are not related to their caregivers and are younger than 14 years old (or 16 years old if they have special needs)
Objective

After completing this training, you will:

  • Know more about EEC, and Group and School Age Child Care;
  • Understand how to access and read the Regulations;
  • Learn the minimum requirements to become a licensed program;
  • Recognize some of the business and personal considerations of running the business; 
  • Understand how to apply for a Group and School Age Child Care license.
